How much does it cost to bring a car from the mainland to Puerto Rico?
Add up the car, trucking to the Jacksonville port (about $350 to $1,150 depending on the state), the ship to San Juan (about $1,202 with TOTE, fuel and port fees included), Hacienda excise and our service. Every car on this page already shows that total, and the excise calculator does it for any price.
How much is the car excise tax in Puerto Rico?
Hacienda charges it on the vehicle’s taxable price on a scale: from $637.50 for cars up to $6,170, to $9,253.10 plus 34% of anything above $44,890. For used cars Hacienda sets that price from its own tables and it is usually lower than the purchase price. SURI gives the exact figure from the VIN.
How long does it take to get the car?
The ship from Jacksonville to San Juan takes about 55 hours and sails twice a week. Add the purchase, trucking to the port and the paperwork in San Juan.
Do I pay the excise before the car leaves the port?
Yes. The car can’t leave the dock until the excise is paid and it is registered. We coordinate that step with you.
Does YMP sell the cars?
No. The dealer listing each car sells it. We find it, check its history, arrange the inspection and bring it to you. You pay the car, freight and excise at cost, plus a flat service fee.
Can you find a model that isn’t listed here?
Yes. Use "Request another car" or the chat, tell us the model, year, color and budget, and we’ll send options with the delivered price.
